Whoah, new job!

So I've been back from the cottage for a few days now and I have to say, I really think it did me a spot of good. I'm quite a bit more relaxed and open minded as of late, I've been sleeping a bit better and I can start my new job with a bit of a fresh look.

Oh yeah... I now have a new job. Gamenow is no more. I would rather not talk about it, but if you ever sit down with me with a beer (or a few) I'm sure I'll spill my guts.

Anyways, on to the new job. Many of you may know Dave Roberts. He was the 'silent' partner for the store and he's been very gracious in hiring me on as a project manager, jack-of-all-trades type. It's a web development/hosting/design company and it should be fun, since his business has been really taking off lately.

I know, I know... all of you have been drooling for some new content on your favorite blog. (ermm... this one, I mean). Sorry for the delay. I've been rather busy and for once, I'm not making that up. If someone isn't having a birthday, someone else is having a BBQ. Working 6 days a week also doesn't leave a lot of room for "social leisure".

Sure, I get home every day and do nothing BUT relax, or at least try my best. On the weekends though I strive to get together with as many people as possible for as long as possible, as many of you may know :)

On a different topic, the cottage seems so close now, only 4 days away. I'll post some pics on facebook as soon as I get back, so look out for them!

A whirlwind

So my life currently, is... how shall I put it... a whirlwind.

I have a loving and wonderful wife, a great house, a cat that's so human it might as well be a child, every material item I could ask for, but my professional life is in turmoil.

If you know me, then you've no doubt heard of my store, GameNow. Well, it's seen its ups and downs over it's 3 year existence and as of late it has hit a bump. Well, a rather big bump, resembling a wall.

The store's financial situation has precariously dipped into the red a bit too far, so its days may be numbered. Yeah, this sucks. A lot.

My blood, sweat and tears are in the store (literally, and figuratively) so I have a large personal investment in it. Just know, that if you see me and I'm not my regular lively self, that there's a reason. The store's failure is no ones fault but my own, so it's difficult to accept that, but I'm learning to.

I plan on remaining in the entertainment/retail field, hopefully returning to my roots as a games buyer for a big box store of some kind (perhaps Toys R Us *cough*). Who knows, cross your fingers!

Mario Kart Weeeeeee

So I played Mario Kart for the Nintendo Wii last Thursday, 3 days earlier than the plebians... I rule.

I have to say, it's more fun than I expected. I really didn't like the N64 version, or the Gamecube version, but I feel that the glory of the original SNES incarnation has been reborn. Also, I might add that the chinsy wheel attachment you get for free with the game seemed quite gimmicky at first, but once you try to go back and play with JUST the wii remote, it just doesn't feel right.

Also, this is absolutely ridiculous, AND relevant!

Don't you hate it when they have boyfriends?

So I jumped the gun a bit early and announced my early procurement of the latest installment of one Grand Theft Auto. Yeah, maybe I shouldn't have been so hasty, as I now have to wait, like everyone else, till Tuesday April 29th. Gah. Gah I say!

I used this coupon... more times than a human should. The amount of saturated fat and sodium coursing through my veins is not at all healthy, I assure you.

With the lack of healthy lunch options you can buy for $2, which is the amount I spent eating these "angus delights" as I like to call them, it was hard to pass this deal up. Multiple times.

I can safely say I will never eat these again at full price. I suggest you all stay away.

Grand Theft Obsession

I, along with nearly everyone I know, am waiting with baited breath for the latest GTA incarnation. I can't stop watching shaky black and white footage from some guys basement in Australia, who managed to snag an early copy somehow. Could this finally be a Grand Theft Auto game that doesn't lose it's appeal within a few days? For me at least.

We'll have to wait and see.

Yes... mediapollution is back. FINALLY. Only took 9 months, but I managed to get it back on hostgo. Dave is a busy bastard, and I'm impatient, so therefore I got signed up again. $6.95/month or so for unlimited everything seemed pretty good.

I have absolutely no idea what I'll do with this site. Maybe just write random thoughts that no one will read, or post funny crap, who knows.

I'll keep you all posted.
